    Leaders at the Institute of Transportation Studies (ITS) Berkeley took center stage on Tuesday, April 4 at the University of California (UC) Center Sacramento, discussing how technological advancements and social changes will impact traffic, focusing specifically on how research at the UC ITS Centers on data and smart cities could improve traffic management.

    In just a few short years, the UAVs @ Berkeley club has gone from an idea to a thriving club with a workspace at the NEXTOR offices at ITS Berkeley. Now, five pilots will be comoeting in the first ever Collegiate Drone Racing National Championship at Purdue University April 15.

     In late March and April, Institutes of Transportation Studies at UC Berkeley, Davis, Irvine and Los Angeles will be presenting a series of policy forums at the UC Center Sacramento. This series presents the latest thinking and scientific insights on a range of transportation challenges facing our state and nation.

    UC Berkeley graduate students Anthony Barrs and Baiyu Chen were awarded the top prize and $50,000 for their design at the Infrastructure Vision 2050 Challenge, hosted by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers in Las Vegas. The competition solicited design solutions that could address some of the biggest challenges facing the United States' infrastructure system.
