UC Berkeley researchers launch high-tech transit study in Bay Area commute hot-spot

Twenty-eight new transportation students met faculty, staff, and each other in the Transportation Library on August 23 during a day of orientation activities.The new group includes 15 students from nine foreign countries  -- China, Colombia, France, India, Japan, Lebanon, Morocco, Peru, and Vietnam -- and 13 U.S. students from six states, including eight from California. Presentations by faculty members covered academic program requirements and research opportunities.

Wolf Homburger, the former Assistant Director of ITS Berkeley and the author of a widely used textbook on traffic engineering, died June 9 after he was injured in a fall. He was 83.
