What’s your hometown?

San Francisco

What is your role at ITS, describe your job in four words, and how long have you been here?

I’m an R&D Engineer, so that means I do what it takes to support students, professors, and other staff to conduct research, and make our projects succeed. I started as a graduate student 20 years ago.

What is your favorite thing about working at ITS?

I am fortunate to work with a dynamic group of creative, smart, and sometimes crazy people.

Where’s your happy place, favorite bay area location?

The hot tub in my newly remodeled bathroom.

What is on the top of your travel experience/destination list?

Planet Mars

What’s the latest book you read? 

The Omnivore’s Dilemma, by Michael Pollan

What is your favorite food?

Hiroshima style okonomiyaki

If you could become a mode of transportation, what would you be?

I would be a spaceship hurtling through the cosmos with the solar wind in my hair.

Have you seen the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival and the Mikoshi in the Grand Parade? I organize that madness every year.
