Online Training Coordinator, TechTransfer

What’s your hometown?

Vero Beach, Florida

What is your role at ITS, describe your job in four words, and how long have you been here?

In my role as the Online Training Coordinator at TechTransfer, which I started last fall, I support student engagement in our online course offerings and, in four words, drive learning through design.

What is your favorite thing about working at ITS?

The team, of course!

Where’s your happy place, favorite bay area location?

The Bay Trail is amazing. Whether cycling, walking my dog, or swimming in the water, the path and parks along the trail are my go-to-places for outdoor fun.

What is on the top of your travel experience/destination list?

There’s an open water event between St. Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean I’ve been looking to try in the next year or so. If anyone has any training tips, I’m all ears.

What’s the latest book you read/latest show you binged/movie you watched/podcast you listened to?

I enjoy learning about learning. My favorite podcast right now is Hidden Brain, and I am currently reading How Minds Change by David McRaney.

What is your favorite food?

Any dish involving lemon, lemon zest, or both.

If you could become a mode of transportation, what would you be?

A sea plane, because I love the water, exploring new places, and understanding the big picture before getting into the details.

What’s your most treasured possession?

Hand-written thank you notes from my students when I first started teaching.

My dog, CeCe, and I have taken multiple cross-country road trips. One of our favorite detours is to the musical road in Lancaster, which uses a series of rumble-strip like grooves to “play” the finale of the William Tell Overture as you drive over it.
