California Path Research on AVCS: Recent Accomplishments and Future Plans

The California PATH Program is a diversified program of research and development in IVHS, incorporating projects in virtually all IVHS topic areas. One of the major focus areas within the PATH program is Advanced Vehicle Control Systems (AVCS). This paper provides a review of recent progress and near-term future plans within the AVCS element of PATH. Since many papers have already been written about aspects of PATH's AVCS research, this paper will not attempt to cover any individual projects in depth, but rather it gives a broader perspective on the program as a whole, summarizing the key findings of the individual projects within PATH.
