Complete Streets, Safe Systems, Vision Zero? Getting Beyond the Name

Safe Transportation Research and Education Center Co-Director Offer Grembek moderated "Complete Streets, Safe Systems, Vision Zero? Getting Beyond the Name" at the 2021 Lifesavers National Conference on Highway Safety Priorities on Wednesday, April 28, 2021. Presenters included Leah Shahum from Vision Zero Network and Rachel Carpenter from Caltrans. The 3 day conference was held completely online this year and is one of the largest conferences for highway safety professionals in the United States. The session focused on the similarities and differences of Complete Streets, Safe Systems, and Vision Zero programs and their approach to mitigating traffic violence and ending traffic fatalities. Presenters shared information on successful strategies to help guide attendees on which approach should be adopted in their community.
