The UC Institute of Transportation Studies (UC ITS) and the Senate Office of Research invite you to a series of briefings at the California Capitol. The briefings will highlight the latest thinking and scientific insights on a range of transportation topics. See below for more information and links to register.

Capitol Building, Room 444
Austin Brown – Director, Policy Institute for Energy, the Environment, and the Economy, UC Davis
Gil Tal – Director, Plug-in Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Research Center, UC Davis
Tim Lipman – Co-Director, Transportation Sustainability Research Center, UC Berkeley
Description: This briefing will review the status of electric vehicle adoption and charging infrastructure in California; discuss the power grid's evolution in response to the state's clean energy goals; review electric vehicle and grid integration concepts; and highlight opportunities for state policy that will help maximize the synergies between transportation electrification and clean energy goals.
Opportunities for Using Shared Mobility Data to Support Planning, Policy, and Research

Capitol Building, Room 126
Speaker: Juan Matute – Deputy Director, UCLA Institute of Transportation Studies
Description: This briefing will highlight findings from a new issue brief from the UC Institute of Transportation Studies on using mobility data for planning, policy, and research. Examples of real world questions mobility data can be used to address will be presented along with an evaluation of whether data available today via current data specifications and/or data sharing practices are sufficient to address these questions. Models for sharing mobility data between the private and public sectors will also be discussed.
