Marc-David L. Seidel is the RBC Financial Group Professor of Entrepreneurship, Associate Professor, OBHR Division, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group at the University of British Columbia. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. from the University of California at Berkeley, his M.B.A. and B.A. from Cornell University, and previously was on the faculty at the University of Texas at Austin.

He is the Director of the W. Maurice Young Centre for Entrepreneurship & Venture Capital Research. He has been an Associate Editor of the Administrative Science Quarterly since Fall 2016. Marc-David is a former Division Chair (5 year leadership track) and Representative at Large (3 year track) of the Academy of Management Organization and Management Theory Division, as well as the Organization Theory Division Chair (3 year track) of the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada.

His current research interests include innovation, entrepreneurship, diffusion, social networks, and life course models. He has published in Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, American Journal of Sociology, Industrial Relations, Strategic Management Journal, Strategic Organization, Research in the Sociology of Organizations, Research in the Sociology of Work, Journal of Management Inquiry, Family Business Review, International Migration Review and Social Science Research.

Marc-David loves improvisation, having trained and performed with ComedySportz, Theatresports, Heroes of Comedy, and Instant Theatre.
