Dr. Pietrucha has over 45 years of experience in civil/transportation engineering specializing in highway design, highway traffic operations, highway safety, human factors, transportation planning, and transportation policy issues for a variety of public and private institutions.

He is currently a senior principal with Kittelson and Associates, Inc. and Kittelson, LLC and Professor Emeritus of Civil Engineering with the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the University Park campus of the Pennsylvania State University.

Dr. Pietrucha is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). He is a Past President of the Research and Education Division of the American Road and Transportation Builders Association and the Council of University Transportation Centers. He is past chair of the National Academy’s Transportation Research Board Committee on Traffic Control Devices, ASCE’s Highway and Traffic Safety Committee, and ITE’s Transportation Education Council. He is also a registered Professional Engineer in the State of New Jersey.
