On Friday Oct. 25, 2024, Civil and Environmental Engineering hosted their inaugural CEE Highlights Event, which attracted over 250 attendees from the CEE  community and provided an opportunity to celebrate the department's achievements and ongoing research.

Attendees enjoyed four talks from distinguished speakers who shared their expertise and perspectives on cutting-edge civil and environmental engineering topicsincluding ITS Affiliates Dimitrios Zekkos, Vice Chair for Strategic Planning and Implementation — Building Our CEE Community Initiative; Joan Walker, Department Chair and T.Y. and Margaret Lin Professor — State of the Department Address; and Kenichi Soga, Donald H. McLaughlin Chair in Mineral Engineering — The Center for Smart Infrastructure.  Additionally, the event featured around 40 student posters showcasing innovative research conducted by our talented students.

Seven affiliated centers also presented their work, including ITS Berkeley and PATH, highlighting the interdisciplinary collaboration and advancements within CEE. The lively atmosphere fostered connections and discussions among faculty, students, alums, and industry professionals.
