Rowland Herbert-Faulkner and Pheobe Ho headshotsCongratulations to City and Regional Planning Rowland Herbert-Faulkner and Civil and Environmental Engineering Doctoral student Phoebe Ho, who were chosen to attend the attend the Eno Center For Transportation Leaders Development Conference. This year, 16 graduate students were invited to attend the conference, and UC Berkeley is the only university to send two students.

“We had a very strong and competitive field of nominees this year at UC Berkeley,” says Institute of Transportation Studies Director Daniel Rodriguez. “I am so pleased that both of our outstanding nominees will be attending. It is a testament to our academic programs and students.”

Eno’s Leaders Development Conference offers a unique incubator for graduate students poised to shape the future of transportation. This distinguished program is a testament to Eno’s dedication to the advanced education and professional development of those who will spearhead tomorrow’s breakthroughs in transportation-related disciplines, including engineering, planning, public policy, and more.

During the 5-day conference Fellows will:

  • Engage with nationally recognized experts who will share their perspectives from decades of experience and ‘deep smarts.’
  • Participate in informal, off the record, conversations on hard-hitting topics affecting the transportation industry.
  • Gain a look “inside the beltway” on how transportation policy gets enacted at the federal state, and local levels.
  • Network with peers from top colleges and universities and industry professionals during panels and evening activities.

The intensive program also connects the Fellows to federal, state, and local officials, as well as public, private, and non-profit leaders across the industry. They get a first-hand look at how transportation policy is made, while engaging with leaders to discuss the latest developments and trends in the industry. For these Fellows, the program provides a pivotal opportunity to gain invaluable insights and develop relationships that propel their careers forward.

“This is our first year back, after pausing and refreshing the program during COVID, and we were so excited to see all the great submissions, many of whom were nominated by alumni of the program. This year’s cohort is talented, passionate, and driven to make an impact in transportation, and we are so excited to welcome them in June. I really think it will be one of our best years yet,” said Eno Chief Development Officer Karen Price.

The conference will run from June 2 through June 6, 2024, and be hosted right here in Washington, D.C. For more information on the program, news on current developments,  and how you can participate, please visit our LDC Program page here.
