ITS Director Samer Madanat presented his review of ridership forecast models for California high-speed rail to the California State Senate Transportation and Housing Committee in Sacramento today (Thursday, November 4). Report co-author David Brownstone, professor of economics at UC Irvine, also presented.
The informational hearing began at 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time. The session also included presentations from Elaine M. Howle, the California State Auditor, and Eric Thronson from the Legislative Analyst Office, and responses from Roelof van Ark, CEO of the California High-Speed Rail Authority, and Lance Neumann, president of Cambridge Systematics.
Mark Hansen, UC Berkeley civil and environmental engineering professor and the report's third co-author, did not attend the hearing.
