Several ITS Students Earn Fellowships

BERKELEY-UPPSALA UNIVERSITY RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

Marcel MoranCongratulations to City and Regional Planning doctoral student Marcel Moran who was awarded the Berkeley-Uppsala University Research Fellowship. The fellowship was intended to study cycling in Stockholm, Sweden and build on his study of mircomobility in Vienna, Austria last summer.

The fellowship is awarded through the Berkeley Institute of European Studies. The partnership between the UC Berkeley and Uppsala University, Sweden, was established in 2018. Both universities are now seeking to intensify their collaboration, and Uppsala University is pleased to announce two scholarships for Berkeley graduate students wishing to do research in Uppsala. The scholarship has a duration of up to three months maximum (shorter stays are possible).

COTA-ROBLES FELLOWSHIP

Congratulations to City and Regional Planning doctoral student Abigal Cochran who was awarded an Cota-Robles Fellowship (named for Eugene Cota-Robles, who began the program). The award is a multi-year fellowship for graduate students pursuing doctoral degrees with the goal of an academic career.

The fellowship program is designed to increase the number of qualified candidates for faculty positions within the University of California, with the added effort of increasing the diversity of such candidates.

Madeleine ParkerFOREIGN LANGUAGE AND AREA STUDIES FELLOWSHIP

Congratulations to Madeleine Parker who earned the Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship. These fellowships provide funding to students to encourage the study of critical and less commonly taught foreign languages in combination with area studies, international studies or international aspects of professional studies.
