Dr. Paul Jovanis, professor emeritus at Pennsylvania State University, and transportation safety professional, is a featured volunteer in the July-August 2016 edition of the TR News. Dr. Jovanis specializes in naturalistic driving data analysis, motor carrier safety, and analytic methods for road safety management.
At TRB, Dr. Jovanis currently chairs the Motor Carrier Safety Research Analysis Committee for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, which has recently issued its first letter report. Dr. Jovanis has been an active member and chair of several TRB Standing Committees since 1983. He is also supporting the implementation of the Naturalistic Driving Study data assembled by TRB’s second Strategic Highway Research Program.
