This paper discusses the integration of PLANiTS (Planning and Analysis Integration for Intelligent Transportation Systems) components. The integration is achieved by defining a structure for representing transportation improvement actions, performance measures and environment in terms of spatial, temporal and user dimensions. A discussion is also presented on the key issues related to computer implementation including data dimension, a data dictionary, data modeling, and data transformations. A basis is developed for the next implementation of PLANiTS.

This report introduces an optimal preview control algorithm which utilizes preview information pertaining to road curvature as well as superelevation angle for vehicle lateral control purposes. The optimal control law consists of both feedback control action and feedforward preview control action. The feedforward preview control action significantly improves tracking performance while maintaining a small closed loop bandwidth so ride quality is not impaired. This study examined the potential of advanced information systems to increase the mobility of disabled travelers using public transportation. A stated preference survey inquired as to whether subjects would make more trips by transit, paratransit, and/or real-time paratransit if kiosk, on-board, in-home, and/or personal information systems were available.
