The Center for Air Transportation Resilience (CATRes) is a collaborative research center focused on improved air system resilience. Established with the funding support of a NASA University Leadership Initiative Grant, Stress Testing and Hardening the NAS for Safe, Efficient, and Resilient Growth, CATRes brings together academics and industry veterans across the country to address critical challenges facing the U.S. National Airspace System (NAS). CATRes was founded with three main research objectives:
1. Identify and evaluate NAS vulnerabilities
2. Develop resilient strategies for stakeholders
3. Design mechanisms for ongoing NAS monitoring and improvement
