Tim Niznik is the Director of Analytics for the Integrated Operations Center (IOC) at American Airlines where he provides directional leadership and delivery of advanced analytics and data science solutions to operational decisions and performance.

Previously, Tim served as Director, Operations Planning at American Airlines where his responsibilities included delivering advanced analytics, simulation analyses, block planning forecasts, and performance analytics to the IOC, Hub Control Centers, and Network Planning organizations. 

Tim has been recognized within the airline industry for his innovations in the areas of disruption management and air traffic management.  Tim served as Co-Chair of the AGIFORS Airline Operations Group from 2003-2018 and has participated on numerous FAA Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) teams contributing to Ground Delay Programs, Airspace Flow Programs, Surface Management, and the Collaborative Trajectory Options Program (CTOP). He currently serves as the American Airlines Technical lead for NASA’s ATD-2 and SNFP Operational Demonstrations at CLT and DFW.  

Tim holds a B.A in Mathematics from St. Olaf College, a M.Sc. in Mathematical Sciences from Clemson University, and a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Colorado School of Mines.
