Zema Katsnelson is a COO and Manager for the Partners for Advanced Transportation Technology (PATH) program at UC Berkeley. PATH is an interdisciplinary research program with a portfolio of active research contracts in excess of $80 Million. PATH conducts research at the leading edge of transportation sciences including the application of artificial intelligence.

Zema is a certified Project Management Professional (PMI PMP) and a licensed California Professional Engineer. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Technical Sciences from Riga Technical University.

Zema has strong enterprise business knowledge and working experience with a diverse range of companies and lines of business. He has a proven success record in leading innovative mission-critical projects and programs and brings hands-on technical expertise across a wide range of technologies to the PATH team.

Zema is a recipient of UC Berkeley Excellence in Management Award (link is external)nominated by his colleagues for exemplifying resilience, adaptiveness, diversity engagement, compassion, work-life balance, and morale, and for providing unparalleled support and encouragement to his staff.
