John Spring has been a software engineer at California PATH since 2006. He has written software for interprocess communications using messaging, semaphores, and shared memory. With collaboration with scientists and engineers at UC Berkeley, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, and the California Department of Transportation (CalTans) he designed software systems for the command and control of vehicles and infrastructure. Karen Nguyen Vo is the Communications Coordinator for the UC Berkeley Safe Transportation Research and Education Center (SafeTREC) and supports communications efforts for SafeTREC's research, tools, programs and education. Prior to joining SafeTREC, Karen produced various communications, including news, research and feature stories for the Center for Information Technology Research in the Interest of Society and the Banatao Institute (CITRIS), The Daily Californian and the Undergraduate Research Apprentice Program.
Karen holds a B.A. in Sociology from UC Berkeley.

Dr. Pei (Peggy) Wang has been an assistant research engineer at the California PATH program since June 2017. She received her Ph.D. in Human Factors and Ergonomics from Tsinghua University, and formerly worked at General Motors China R&D as an HMI researcher. She has been involved with research in cross-cultural studies of in-vehicle speech systems, data analytic studies for Apple Carplay usage, and driving styles studies for automated vehicles.
