Abstract:
As research using portable Global Positioning System (GPS) technology to collect spatially explicit data on travel and physical activity proliferates, investigators have numerous available options for makes and models, but limited information on functionality and ease of use. This study compares portable GPS technology from four manufacturers, with a review of the size, cost, and basic specifications of the units, and their relative performance in signal acquisitions time, battery life, and accuracy.
